Rob is the initial founder, having decided that he wanted to bring the 4X gaming community together. He handles the website, so if you love it or hate it, blame him! He is responsible for article writing, Let’s Plays, Twitch streaming, and the Twitter and Facebook accounts, too.

He’s on every 4X forum and has passionately played the genre since the original Civilization. He’s also an avid beta tester and loves taking part in any 4X game beta he can get his hands on! When he’s not playing 4X or tactics games, he’s usually making his way through a tactical RPG or the occasional FPS or space adventure game!

Nate was brought on soon after Rob founded eXplorminate and is considered a co-founder. He’s had many responsibilities in the past but has recently taken a step back to deal with his career.


He’s been playing 4X games since he first discovered Civilization 1. He has been an avid fan ever since. His favorites include the Civilization franchise, Star Control series, Master of Orion series, Ascendancy, Sword of the Stars 1, Galactic Civilizations 2, Endless Space, Endless Legend, and Age of Wonders 3.

Ben is not only an author for eXplorminate, but he’s also staying up way past his bedtime to join Rob on the eXplorminate Podcast every other week. He’s even streaming on eXplorminate’s Twitch Channel, too!

Drexy is a podcast regular, having jumped on with Rob after Nate had to take a pretty large step back. He’s the comedic relief on the show and is always good for a bit of light-hearted fun. He’s also kept Rob from losing his damn mind more than a few times with help on the site’s CSS and HTML.

Micah is an eXplorminate word-smith as one of out top editors. Micah began his 4X journey in the mid-1990s with Master of Orion 2. He enjoys good tactical combat and an immersive world in a 4X game. When he is not playing 4X games, you can catch Marlowe enjoying his guilty pleasures: adventure games, action RPGs, and Space Simulators.
