I do use the notes from times to time. In most cases it is because you mention some new game and I don’t catch the exact naming, or I miss which game you been talking about for the last minute. Then I can scroll down and see. The notes are handy but not essential. I think it is good if you put up links for new games you mentioned, but you don´t need to be as meticulous as you seem to be now putting up a link for everything you happen to mention.

Disapointed Derek Paxton isnt making a deep 4X Fantasy. Such a waste of his talents.

eXplorminate 9 years ago

He is, but it won’t be out this year. At least that was the last confirmed but of info. I don’t know the title or release date for this unannounced title.

Enjoyable listen as always guys, especially Nate’s fantastic Civ6 rant. 😀
My feelings on show notes:
* show notes with links are fantastic (if I don’t have time to listen to the whole show, I can click on links of interest), but I understand they take a lot of time to produce
* show notes without links would be almost as fantastic – it is easy enough to find the relevant article/post/discussion once I know what I’m looking for
* no notes at all would be missed, I do like being able to tell at a glance what games / topics were discussed on any given show

Show notes for every thing you mention in the cast is not necessary. Don’t need a link to Galciv 3 every week.
Show notes for new things are useful. If you talk about a specific event or news story, a link to it is nice.
I also use the notes for when I miss something. I listen while I’m working on other systems. I don’t have the time to listen to the whole thing again or search for a specific audio mark or even write down a note to look for something later. So for me the notes are great.

i feel confirmed that i avoid Civ6 so far 🙂
it’s hard as i had played Civ5 very very much, but it’s just not worth to bother till they fix a lot.
just skip Civ6 and go on with DoA or GalCiv3 Crusade.
@notes: i like the list to know what contend is in the podcast and in wich order it’s covered.
don’t need the links.
great show, thanks!

1.8 patch is the result of people complaining about the naval aspect of aow3 for a long time, and also Eomolch’s mod “The Old Man and the Sea.”
