Shaun’s Top Games of 2021 and 2022
It’s been a wild year inside and out of the gaming world, but we’re here to talk about the gaming side of things. Some of the games we were really excited for flopped. Some were delayed or pushed back until 2022, but plenty of genuinely impressive titles were released as well. Some we had known […]
Distant Worlds 2: The Review
Distant Worlds 2 is quite a game. I’ve always had a soft spot for space games in general and sci-fi always tended to appeal to me more than fantasy. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy fantasy settings and have been greatly influenced by Dungeons & Dragons and Lord of the Rings, but they didn’t […]
Brigandine: Legend of Runersia Review
When I was young, every year I received the same gift for my birthday. My mom would take me to the game store and I could pick out one that would come home with me. There were certainly mistakes made over the years, but two of the better choices that I made defined my expectations […]

Rob’s Look at the Strategy Games of 2022 and 2023
2022: The Year that Could Have Been Yet again, the fine folks here at eXplorminate are so wildly varied and unique that we won’t likely be able to nail down a true “Game of the Year” (GotY) as a site. I’m hoping that 2023 will be different, though. I think there are some really fantastic […]

Before You Buy Shadows of Forbidden Gods
Shadows of the Forbidden God (Steam Link) is a strong contender for the most “Evil” strategy game if such an award was to be given away. While the player takes the role of a dark god in the hope of running the world into the ground and bringing an era of darkness, the forces of […]

Stellaris: Aquatics Species Pack Review
If you’ve been playing Stellaris and felt that your species just wasn’t wet enough, I’ve got some great news for you… Stellaris is the gift that just keeps on giving. As a Paradox cultist, I’m always thrilled with new content updates for years after release, whether it’s for Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis, or even Imperator. I’ll save my […]
Ben’s Top Games of 2021 and 2022
Happy New Year! 2021 wasn’t the best year for big, exciting releases with so many titles being set back until 2022. I mostly played Shadow Empire and Dominions 5, if truth be told. That said, for weirdo grognard gamers like myself, there were obvious highlights. I won’t bore you with my usual over-lengthy rambling nonsense, […]
