Titled, “Together We Rule“, Amplitude Studios announced today that Humankind will get its first eXpansion pack which will add agents, embassies, the “Congress of Humankind”, new cultures, wonders, and narrative events.
Here is Amplitude’s featured teaser trailer:
The expansion will also feature a new culture type, focused on diplomacy. Those cultures are the:
- Sumerians (Ancient)
- Han Chinese (Classical)
- Bulgarians (Medieval)
- Swiss (Early modern)
- Scots (Industrial)
- Singaporeans (Contemporary)
The expansion appears to be focused on a more “peaceful way” of playing Humankind, through diplomacy and espionage. Included will be new agent units that will be able to subtlety disrupt your opponents through sabotage and other back-door methods. As a result, there will be a rework to stealth mechanics, making detection of some units much more difficult, especially that of your agents.
Alongside the expansion will be a large free update, with those aforementioned stealth changes making their way to the base game, alongside some changes to the way independent peoples work.
The Congress of Humankind will allow players to use a new diplomatic currency to influence the world at large, allowing you to have a say at the international level by passing treaties, influencing war support, and even having a greater impact on independent peoples.
We’re ecstatic to see Amplitude Studios release a full expansion for Humankind and will report on future information about “Together We Rule” as it becomes available. Until then, feast on some new screenshots:

We’ll have more soon. Until then…
Keep eXploring!
