That’s right. It’s time! Join Rob as he navigates the release version of Humankind, the highly-anticipated historical 4X from veteran 4X developers, Amplitude Studios. What’s changed? What’s improved? Find out as Rob makes his way through the game, with some input from his friends in the audience!
Rob founded eXplorminate in 2014 as his passion for 4X needed an outlet. You can find Rob in just about every 4X game beta and 4X game forum, too. He’s equally obsessed with the strategy and tactics genres and constantly combs the internet for new and exciting titles in those genres. He’s proud to be a member of Amplitude Studios’ VIP program and the concept creator of Endless Space 2’s Unfallen.
Hard pass.
What don’t you like?
How does this compare to Old World? I bought Old World not long ago, and I’m still thinking about this one.
I’ve been playing Old World since early access and a good deal since release. The game is outstanding. I also played the betas for Humankind and am going to play a good deal after launch.
Humankind’s battles are more interesting tactically. Old World has very good AI that can exploit the weaker human player. I’m not sure about Humankind’s strategic AI, especially in the long game – it seems competent in limited gameplay. In contrast, Old World is limited to a single era and a game length of 200 years – so technological advancement is constrained.
I do like the use of outposts in Humankind which slows the city management needs.
Really interested in this one – any hints that can be shared on when a review might be coming? 😉
Monday!
Hype!!! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
