Haven’t listened to episode 40, but wanted to congratulate you on episode 39 about DW2. Why is it missing from the homepage?
I enjoy hearing dissenting views presented in a thoughtful, calm way, and the discussion on DW2 was exactly this. The game devs / publishers may not like it, but trust me, this sort of podcast gives you so much more credibility then borderline advertising that some other reviewers provide.
I don’t always agree with Das but I think he is 100% right about the mistake in DW2 not going Early Access. We know these developers stick at their game for the long haul to make it better, so EA is not a risk here.
Personally I find Tortuga Power more critical view extremely refreshing and helpful in balancing sometimes overly positive enthusiasm of reviewers like Das. He obviously loves the Distant Worlds series and just wants the game to be as good as it can be.
Rob, Drexy and Ben were great as usual too. Drexy’s point about beta testers and sometimes being too close to the game and devs is absolutely spot on.
I haven’t bought DW2 yet as I’m happy playing DWU and waiting for the many rough edges of DW2 to be fixed. I’d already decided to wait before listening to this podcast though.
Finally, love the mix of peoples countries too (bad luck Shaun was not there), always makes for more interesting viewpoints

That’s 100% my fault that the DW2 show didn’t get added to the homepage. I’ll rectify that very soon. I just assume that most people who listen to the podcast either do so through their favorite podcast app, or through Anchor’s page.
