Wow Nate, that was the worst description of a Metroidvania ever. That could be anything. A Metroidvania is about having a non-linear environment that you unlock and explore via abilities that are, in turn, found in the environment.

Heh, my deepest and darkest secret has been exposed… I knew one of you would come in a fix it right up 😛

To answer your question, yes, you are correct, I’m working on a classic western RPG now 🙂 It’s an old-school party-based, turn-based, grid movement, FPP RPG. Just like the old games I played in the 90s, but well, more modern and user friendly 🙂

Which does not affect the plans related to Stellar Monarch 🙂 As mentioned before, I will start working on an expension arround end of this year. I really love the reception the Stellar Monarch gets, it’s a pleasure working on a game players do like and do play 🙂

It will be released in a few months or earlier (before Legends of Amberland and expansion pack for Stellar Monarch).

That’s mean replying by audio 🙂
I can’t find references for the purchase of Haemimont or Colossal Order (the mentioned videogames, along with HBS, which I have already admitted to totally forgetting), but you’re right, that’s not really the point.
The point is that PDX has stated that they don’t want to interfere too much because developers know their games much better. (Running the risk of misremembering again, I believe Mariina said the same around PDXCON 2017). How much of that is still true and if it will continue being so is anyone’s guess, with them being a fairly big publicly traded company with bad publishing experiences.
Still, my actual point is that it is my belief game companies have a fair bit more freedom about game features under PDX than usual at this time, so saying “Paradox decided to change X in (published-only) game Y” doesn’t sound correct at all to me – not that I can know. And it removes credit (and sometimes infamy) from those who deserve it.

You bring up good points and I agree with you on many of them, so we shall see. I for one, have no issues with Paradox as a publisher or game developer. But many do.
