thanks for another great show!
on the paradox DLC topic: i don’t understand the trouble.
paradox makes no secret of how they plan out their games and that is very DLC intensive.
it’s not like other developers that make strategic changes during late development or even after release like adding micro transactions or make features that where said to be free then paid DLC.
paradox is square and fair about what they are doing.
so you can like it or not, think it’s to expensive or not, but there is no room for criticizing their way they finance their games.
if you don’t like how they publish their games, vote with your wallet and don’t buy.
on the positive side, even if you don’t buy you still get updates for the base game for a long time.
somtimes even DLC stuff gets patched into the base game after some time.
about space combat in 4x: yeah, sword of the stars was great, even with all it’s problems.
that game made so much realy good, it’s a pity it ended up so bad 🙁
and as i have the feeling it is needed: nate and all the others, you are doing a great job!
don’t take the harsh criticism to personal, you will meet haters/trolls everywhere.

there where some sound issues on your side if i rember correctly. not often and only a bit.
troy seemed clear. but i skipped a few parts so didn’t hear the whole show.
sorry, my english is not good enough for more details on the topic of sound-tech 🙂

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand the logic of “you can like or dislike, but you shouldn’t criticize”

i guess it’s my bad english.
what i meant was that you can like what they are doing, or not. you can like how much they charge for their game, or not. and of course citicize them for that.
but the negative/hate feedback they get about how they finance their game has no point. they have no hidden cost and it is well known. they make games and support it over time with DLCs.
it is their decision to do it that way. i don’t see a valid point here where this financing model leave any room for all the exaggerated negative feedback they get about this.
of course, one cood state that he likes it or not.
but often people just hate them for this, and for this hate i don’t see valid points.
it only is about this point of large ammounts of DLCs used as a financial plan for games.
was not ment for citicism of quality or patchmanagement or other stuff.
i guess my “citicize” wasn’t a well chosen word for what i wanted to say.

I don’t think they get exaggerated negative feedback. It’s a small vocal group in their large user base. Paradox business doesn’t seem to be affected by any of this. So far. That we know.
But these are also de facto consumers and potential consumers of Paradox products.They are playing the legitimate game of offer and demand, and desires and expectations in a free market. Paradox is doing it too. There is absolutely nothing wrong with their actions of criticism, regardless of how you interpreting it as hate.
I honestly only have a problem with the idea that consumers should not vocalize their “hate”. Sine you say that is not what you meant to do, that’s fine. But let me warn you things don’t just happen out of thin air. When something stirs, there is usually some reason for it. Paradox was not facing this criticism a few years back. In fact it was unthinkable. Paradox seems to have been loosing stock among its user base. I know why. Do you?

@Nate: As far as I know Microsoft refunded all deleted Ebooks which is fair.
